North Central Iowa FaDSS
What is FaDSS?
Family Development and Self-Sufficiency
A program designed to provide voluntary support services to families in PROMISE JOBS or families on FIP.
FaDSS Program Activities Include:
- Home Visits
- Individual Assessments
- Family Goal Planning
- Family Advocacy
- Special Needs Resources
- Basic Essentials Pantry
- Family File Boxes - Household Financial Management Kits
- Newsletters
- Drop-in visits are welcome at the Family Resource Center
Who is Eligible for FaDSS?
Families in Butler, Cerro Gordo, Floyd, Franklin, Hancock, Kossuth, Mitchell, Winnebago, or Worth County who are:
- Receiving FIP who work with PROMISE JOBS
- Interested in participating
How can I participate?
It is easy to join by saying "YES" when a Family Development Specialist contacts you to explain the program. FaDSS encourages each family to look at where they are now and to decide where they want to be in the future. Then, together with the Family Development Specialist you will make plans for how to become independent of FIP. Participation is voluntary and does not affect FIP benefits. For information on how to enroll in the FaDSS Program, contact North Iowa Community Action, your local DHS Income Maintenance Worker or your PROMISE JOBS Case Manager.
