Transitional Housing
TRANSITIONAL HOUSING
Affordable 1, 2, and 3 bedroom rental units are located throughout Sioux City. Transitional housing offers short-term tempory housing assistance while families work with a Family Development Specialist to achieve self-sufficiency goals.
Homeless/near homeless individuals in Siouxland turn to the Community Action Agency of Siouxland for shelter in one of our transitional housing units. These units can accommodate as many as 12 people at one given time. We served 14 families in FY 2008.
A majority of the slots in our transitional housing units are filled by people who come to us for emergency assistance. It is not rare to see people come to us who are living in their car and need immediate housing which we provide.
AFFORDABLE HOUSING
We also offer affordable housing options for low-income individuals in Woodbury County. With two affordable Housing Tax Credit complexes, the Community Action Agency of Siouxland is able to offer affordable housing to people at 50 and 60 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.
Carnegie Place Apartments has eight one-bedroom apartments and 12 two bedroom apartments. The Woodbury Park Apartments offers four two bedroom apartments and two three bedroom apartments.
